Joel Embiid Would Rather Be On The Phone Than Win A Playoff Game

Joel Embiid everybody! Sure maybe your team is currently being embarrassed at home in the first round of the playoffs by a 6 seed, a whole seasons worth of effort thrown out the window right as the playoffs just get under way, but listen it’s a lot to ask for Joel Embiid to pay attention for a full 48 minutes. This is just classic Embiid in my opinion. When the going gets tough and things don’t go his way, he quits. This is the leader of the Process? This the the type of player you build your franchise around? Who gives a shit what Amir Johnson is doing, you couldn’t possibly look worse here if you’re Joel Embiid. Out here planning his postgame activities in the middle of a playoff game. Unbelievable, and not to mention a big time NBA no no.

Think about this for a minute. This was the year the Sixers went all in. They made all these moves to assemble the “most talented starting five in the East”, and they just got their ASSES handed to them by a team barely over .500. At home. What part of the Process is that? Then while the beatdown is going down their best player can’t be bothered to ya know, pay attention. Not to mention Ben Simmons was a non factor and was once again a playoff liability. It’s almost as if the Sixers didn’t learn anything from their playoff embarrassment just one year ago.

Now you have your franchise player hitting up bitches on the sidelines as his team is getting embarrassed. Never change Sixers, never ever change.

UPDATE:

Now this does explain things, and obviously is a situation that’s bigger than basketball. My question then is why did Doris Burke say on the broadcast that he was laughing and stuff? That would be weird given that super serious situation. I can’t imagine Embiid would be crazy enough to lie about what they were doing so I’ll take his word for it, but why would Doris Burke make that up? The whole thing is pretty weird on what was already a weird afternoon in Philly.
